About the Artist

Dan Khoa is a contemporary artist whose journey began in Vietnam, where he first explored classical painting techniques through still life and landscape studies. His early work encompassed various mediums including gouache and charcoal, before he discovered oil painting as his primary medium. Heavily inspired by Impressionism, Dan Khoa's work often features landscapes with human figures as protagonists, capturing the essence of place and emotion.

Currently based in Berlin, Dan Khoa's artistic direction has evolved toward more contemporary expressions, exploring diverse motifs and themes. His latest collection delves into the intersection of visual art and techno music, creating works that capture the energy and rhythm of Berlin's electronic music scene. This represents a significant shift from his classical roots toward more experimental and contemporary approaches.

Many of Dan Khoa's artworks feature places he has visited and experienced deeply, including Naxos (Greece), Marseille (France), and his current home base of Berlin. These locations serve not just as subjects, but they inform his understanding of light, atmosphere, and human connection to place. Through his paintings, he invites viewers to experience these places, and how they made him feel, by blending traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities.
